Mother's Day 2006

Been busy for the whole weekend and it's a long weekend too. Wesak day fell on the 12th May, Friday. Therefore, had holiday starting from Friday till today. This is good :D Can finally have a rest.

My cousin and her friend came to KL for interview on Friday. They arrived late Thursday night. So, kinda spent a whole day driving them here and there on Friday. After sending them off on Friday evening, I decided to wait for Sie for dinner. Felt like having a good relaxing dinner outside, rather than just nearby.

Went to Heaven for dinner. It's a pub with live-band. The atmosphere was pretty good there. Lots of families and couples who sat there for hours just to sit and relax while listening to the songs. We got there a bit too early, and it was still within the Happy Hour, so we actually ordered 2 drinks per person so that those drinks are charged as "Happy Hour" prices. Half price! hahahaha... Too bad the cocktail we ordered are not any cheaper.. anyway, I had a glass of magarita blue. Not too bad.. but not that great either :P We sat there and laughed and chatted for another hour before the band came in and started their performance. There were mostly chinese songs. Pretty good their singing, just not too great when comes to talking. Had a great time that nite... Sie is a good company :D

Saturday and Sunday were reserved for parents. I went to my parents' place on Saturday, spent the whole afternoon and evening loitering the house, talking nonsense to my mom. HAHAHAHAHA The nite was casual, just simple but good healthy home cook meals and had a walk around the neighbourhood. Their place is actually within a gated-community and it's all new houses. Lots of emtpy ones. So the walk was good and relaxing. (Cheated myself that the walk can be considered as exercise.... :P )

Sunday (which is today) is Mother's Day. Mom has been complaining that she had not tasted crabs for a long long time... so, we went to the market this morning, had Dim Sum as breakfast and shopped for crabs and fish. Found what we needed... so dinner will be a hearty seafood meal!

Went shopping after that, and bought mom a cake. The cake came with a carnation. :D So, I think Mom was pretty happy bout it. Another afternoon of loitering and napping and talking nonsense with Mom. Then it's DINNER TIME!!!

The menu was :
sweet and spicy crabs + deep fried small fish + ABC soup + bitter guard with roasted pork + red wine + peanuts

hahaha i dunno where those peanuts came in from... but it's just happen to be around when we opened a bottle of red wine.

Had a great weekend, though it's not much achivements... but what achievements can there be when it comes to Mother's Day? It's all about spending valuable time with family members. And I think I did that.
